# Using the claims Portal

The Claims Portal is a critical component of Itheum's protocol, and its role is to oversee the automated token distributions that are the outcome of ecosystem usage activity. It facilitates direct token distribution schemes within the Itheum ecosystem, coordinating exchanges between Data Creators, Data Consumers, and Data Coalition DAOs. It enables the fair distribution of tokens among participants, making it a crucial building block for the Itheum platform's community growth and governance. You can learn more about the Claims Portal in this [blog post](https://medium.com/itheum-newsletter/itheums-token-distribution-nucleus-the-claims-portal-is-now-live-on-the-elrond-mainnet-e5717c3827b6).

In this guide, we will now run through the process of how to log into the Data DEX and self-claim and ITHEUM tokens allocated to you from the Claims Portal.

**Steps)**

1. Browse over to the Itheum [Data DEX](https://datadex.itheum.io/).
2. Click on "Connect MultiversX Wallet" and select "Mainnet".

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.itheum.io/product-docs/pre-aithra/pre-aithra-apps/data-dex/using-the-claims-portal.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
